Über mich

Mein Name ist Matthias Riekens, ich bin 47 Jahre und als freier Fotograf in Deutschland und Nordeuropa unterwegs. Als ich vor fast dreissig Jahren zu meiner ersten Reise nach Skandinavien aufbrach, konnte ich nicht erahnen welches "Fieber" mich erfassen sollte. Ich war begeistert von den abwechslungsreichen Landschaften, den liebenswürdigen Menschen die ich kennenlernen durfte, von der atemberaubenden Natur und der faszinierende Fauna dieser Länder.

Ein Werbeslogan aus Skandinavien beschrieb das einmal so passend:
97 % der Reisenden, die Skandinavien besuchten, kommen wieder. Die anderen 3 %, so sagt man, bleiben ganz.

Aus familiären Gründen konnte ich nicht bleiben, ich bin aber immer wiedergekommen.

Es ist für mich immer wieder überwältigend, die großartige Schöpfung unseres blauen Planeten zu betrachten und zu erleben. Es ist aber ebenso wichtig diese zu erhalten und zu schützen.

Ich finde mit meiner 7D von Canon und vorzugsweise mit dem Canonobjektiv EF 4.0/ 300 mm USM IS mit Lichtstärke f 4.0 meine bevorzugten Motive in der Natur- und Landschaftsfotografie. Ich hoffe, dass auch meine Fotos dazu beitragen, dass wir Menschen fasziniert bleiben, uns den Blick für die einmalige Natur und Tierwelt erhalten und alles menschenmögliche dafür tun, dass uns dieser grandiose Schatz erhalten bleibt.

My name is Matthias Riekens, I am 47 years old and a freelance photographer in Germany and Northern Europe.
When I set out on my first trip to Scandinavia almost thirty years ago, I could not guess which "fever" would affect me.
I was thrilled with the varied landscapes, the lovely people I got to know, the breathtaking nature and the fascinating fauna of these countries.

An advertising slogan from Scandinavia once described this as fitting:
97% of the travelers who visited Scandinavia come again. The other 3%, they say, remain whole.

For family reasons, I could not stay, but I always came back.

It is always overwhelming for me to see and experience the great creation of our blue planet. But it is equally important to preserve and protect them.

I think with my 7D Canon and preferably with the Canon lens EF 4.0 / 300 mm USM IS with light intensity f 4.0 my favorite subjects in nature and landscape photography. I hope that my photos also contribute to the fact that we humans remain fascinated, keep our eyes open for the unique nature and wildlife and do everything humanly possible to preserve this magnificent treasure.
